JEWELRY - BEADED & WIRED WRAPPED DESIGNS

I have been doing some form of beaded jewelry for almost 40 years, having offered my professional services to most of the finer jewelers in San Antonio, Texas, from 1979-2001, including teaching classes to adults and children's after school discovery classes for almost 10 years, in beginning to advanced level.

I have used a variety of techniques in my beadwork, to include knotting, macrame, weaving, and wire wrapping, having offered my professional skills to individuals that want something redesigned or repaired of their own, and I also offer individual and small group classes from time to time.

From 2010 through 2015, I worked in collaboration with several of Santa Fe's jewelry designers in the manufacture of their own jewelry design lines, incorporating the various elements, and techniques particular to each of their styling, and working out engineering details toward making a successful piece, focusing on quality of workmanship and integrity of materials.

From 2014-2020, I manufactured and contributed to the design of a beaded and wire wrapped jewelry line, and produced the leather and sterling silver jewelry line for the Grace Gallery in Santa Fe.

Due to closures related to Covid-29 through out most of 2020 to the present, I am experimenting with creating a line of my own, using very small gemstone beads, loom woven into bracelets of varying widths, with the hopes of participating in one of the local Albuquerque or Santa Fe cooperative galleries at some point in the forseeable future, once everything reopens post pandemic.

As a new progect for 2021, I will be working with theGAP, The Gynecological Cancer Awareness Project, http://theGCAP.org, creating a small line of affordable fashion jewelry, and some pieces in sterling silver, to help support the many projects that theGCAP provides in New Mexico to those dealing with, and healing from, gynecological cancer. The line is to be sold on theGCAP website, with their newly opened online storefront in progress, with the pieces to be made in the related gyn cancer colors with beads and supportive word and phrase charms. My hope is that these pieces will be supportive reminders of a woman's journey towards healing from cancer, as well as pieces in memoriam for family and friends who have lost their loved one to cancer.
